We use our well equipped onsite gym to burn off energy and stay fit when the weather is not so good.
Our trips to the local bowling alley are very popular with the boys and are a great way to improve physical coordination and motor skills.
Orienteering is an exciting adventure sport that will allow the boys to develop a balance between physical exercise and using the mind. It’s great for teaching self-reliance, sharpens decision making skills, increased fitness levels, their self-esteem and how to think and act under pressure.
To start with, a course has been set up using a professionally drawn map of the school. Around the school are many different control points, each with an individual code/picture. The boys are given a control description sheet that tells you which controls you must visit and in which order and may contain information about where to find the control. The team that completes the course by visiting the correct points in the least amount of time is the winner.
It is a great activity to introduce our young boys to map reading, compass navigating and team work.
