Year 7 Catch-Up Grant (CUG) Funding

The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives schools additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2).

 

Future Spending Plans: 2016-17

Key areas of focus: LITERACY

  • Accelerated Reading programme monitored and bespoke interventions identified for targeted learners
  • Daily '1 to 1' reading support
  • Additional individualised phonic programmes for identified learners
  • Additional supported reading time on the residential units

 Key areas of focus: NUMERACY

  • Numeracy skills programme monitored and bespoke interventions identified for targeted learners
  • Additional individualised working memory programmes for identified learners
  • Additional individualised numeracy tasks on the residential units
