 Year 7 Catch-Up Grant Expenditure 2014-15 

 Objective for spending Catch up funding:

 To ensure pupils in Year 7 not currently achieving level 4 in English (reading) or Mathematics do so by the end of the academic year or make at least expected progress from their starting point.

 Summary of Catch up funding received:

 Two pupils did not achieve Level 4 in reading or Maths at the end of Key Stage 2 (2013-14), as a result the school received  £1000 in Catch up funding for Year 7 (2014-15).

 In both ‘Reading’ and Maths a range of targeted interventions were offered to the identified pupils, personalised to meet their individual needs.

Outcomes

 Maths:

 In class maths support: 1:1 TA support, additional resources, subscriptions to My Maths and Sum Dog.

 

 

 Reading:

 Daily paired/guided reading, 1:1 TA support, phonics programmes, extra-curricular reading activities, small group literacy, library sessions, visits to local bookshops, access to Reading Eggs.

 Of the two pupils who started Yr7 September 2014 working below a level 4 in Mathematics, one made the expected progress (2 sub-levels) and one slightly below expected progress. Both pupils were working at Level 4 by the end of Year 7.
