Bransdale Water Residential Trip

The Bransdale Residential Trip is a highlight of our school year. The trip has been developed over a number of years, it includes many different water based activities taking advantage of our location near the North Yorkshire Coast. The trip does change sometimes depending on the weather but is always great fun.

We set off on Monday morning, setting up tents at a local campsite. From there we travel around the local area to take part in various activities. We spend a day Canoeing on the River Esk in Whitby. We spend a day in Scarborough, visiting the Sea Life Centre to learn about the local wildlife and creatures from further out to sea. From there we visit the local Lifeboat station, where we are shown around the lifeboats and equipment and take part in presentations about water safety before we spend a few relaxing hours at Scarborough Castle. One of the most challenging activities is a day spent Coasteering. This activity involves climbing around the rocks, jumping in to the sea and exploring caves. A more relaxing day follows, with a trip to Bridlington, where we visit the indoor swimming pool with water slides, followed by a meal and a trip to the cinema. Our last day takes us to the North Yorkshire Water Park. We spend our time working in groups on the stand on paddle boards, followed by time on the inflatables.
